Friends, we are on the precipice of great things, ready to pitch over headlong into a flaming car crash of new stories. Perhaps this isn't the best way to sell you on new endeavours, nonetheless, as part of our continuing fourth anniversary celebrations, we have a number of exciting announcements to make, the first of which being a brand new All Cats Are Beautiful novel by friend of the school, Kevin Bryant.
Available to pre-order from JMS Books and amazon (US, UK) and other sites on 2nd October, Silver in the Second Temple is a wonderful story exploring the moments leading up to the original book and taking a look behind the scenes and in the very boardrooms of the Firmament Foundation.
Long established as leaders in their field, the vast corporation known as the Firmament Foundation has lost contact with one of their deep space exploration vessels. Captained by Artificial Intelligence, and staffed by the Foundation's genetically enhanced homunculi, the idea of losing touch with such a significant asset poses unthinkable danger not only to the future of the company's plans but to their goals of humanity's betterment.
Charged with discovering what is amiss and rectifying the situation immediately, Foundation board director Kim turns to a gathering of scientists and experts, numbering amongst them the lothario and impresario, Doctor Silver Ballard, to solve the mystery of their runaway ship and bring it back under company control - yet in doing so, Silver discovers a secret so dreadful that it threatens to change the human perspective on our relationship with the stars, and he is thus soon at odds not only with the Foundation, but with Kim themself in a race against time to prevent the oldest secret of life falling into the wrong hands!
We are so excited to be sharing this with you and we've thoroughly enjoyed our time working with Kev to develop the background of this universe; now, at last, it feels like we are at the point where All Cats Are Beautiful stands to become its own thing, and we couldn't be happier! We really hope that you will show the same kindness towards Kev's work as you have ours because we are just so excited about talking to you about this book as both fans and creators!
Yet that's not all! Much to our genuine surprise, the original All Cats Are Beautiful just debuted in a new print edition from JMS because, ah, apparently enough people brought the ebook? Please insert that anime butterfly meme here with the caption, "Is this success?" Again, whilst we don't actively support amazon, for convenience's sake, you can now order it from both their UK and US sites.
To celebrate both of these small triumphs, we have decided to launch a tiny three part mini-series over the next three weeks featuring brand new art by our dear friend Rei and debuting via our patreon as of today (!) for you lovely people who are funding this endeavour before arriving next week on our brand new page over at Black Saturn!
But wait, dearest correspondent, you might proclaim, surely that's not all you've been doing this month, right? Of course not, friends! As usual, our ongoing serial, Sophia! is chugging along, steadily gaining ground through parts XVI, XVII, and XVIII as it draws closer to its conclusion, and to build on the current hype for all things feline and all things monster-collecting, we shared a glimpse of a new, upcoming creature feature also!
On a more serious note, we also took a moment to discuss what the absence of bees this summer means, as well as the weighty issues that surround nationalism and ideology, things that we believe many of us have been considering this past September.
Ah, but we do not wish to end things on a down note! So many things are happening, friends, and we hope that you will join us on patreon or over at Black Saturn next week as we reconvene with the opening chapter of Bug Hunt!
Once again, we thank you for your continued support!
