A small number of our girls are staying with us for part of the holidays, and, much to our surprise, we have heard an inordinate amount of Kate Bush being played in the dormitories. Obviously, being of an older generation, staff have been bewildered as to why young people would suddenly be so taken in particular with Hounds of Love, yet we assume it is to do the usage of certain songs in key scenes during the current season of Stranger Things.
Wishing to capitalise on this sudden overlapping interest between generations, along with our participation in July's sunshine_challenge event, we decided that we would begin to build a series around this set up and ask students to document their summer experiences.
Patrons of the school can read the first two parts right away, as well as our consideration of the Obon festival in contrast to Japan's new religions, whilst new friends can read about prom planning, another important facet of the changing seasons.
As always, we thank you for your continuing support of the school and we look forward to greeting a whole bevy of new students very soon—in a few weeks in fact!
Until then, please keep a eye on our upcoming projects on smashwords, and we are legally obliged to mention our begrudging presence on the bird site as a method of trying to sell you things, though we much prefer you to all be on mastodon.
Until next month, friends! Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your holidays!
